Cornerstone VNA Offers Free Event for Caregivers at the Governor’s Inn in Rochester

Cornerstone VNA is pleased to announce the return of Caregivers Connect, a special event series underwritten by Federal Savings Bank. “Take Care to Give Care” is the theme of this event and will focus on providing support, relaxation and education for caregivers.  Caregivers are invited to attend this free event, which will take place at the Governor’s Inn in Rochester on May 4 from 1:30pm – 5pm.  During the event, trained staff and volunteers from Cornerstone VNA will be available to provide on-site respite care, in a safe and welcoming environment, for caregivers who wish to attend.  “We had a tremendously positive response to our Caregivers Connect events last year and are pleased to continue the series with support from Federal Savings Bank,” states Erika Lee, Director of Advancement at Cornerstone VNA.  Lee adds, “The goal of Caregivers Connect is to connect caregivers through support and education and provide them with important tools that will assist them in their caregiving roles.”

Special presentations include Crisis Management & Dementia “Preparing for the Unexpected” by Ann Marie Olsen-Hayward, LICSW, Geriatric Psychiatry, Frisbie Memorial Hospital, “Practical Tips for Caregiving” by Jenna Arsenault, RN, MSW, Behavioral Health Nurse at Cornerstone VNA, and “Relaxation Techniques for Caregivers” by Julie McCabe, MSW, LICSW, Licensed Social Worker at Cornerstone VNA.
