Act One Delivers an Extraordinary Evening of Entertainment

Lettice and LovageThe staff and supporters of Cornerstone VNA would like to thank Stephanie Nugent, Act One’s Executive Director, and the entire cast of Lettice and Lovage for an extraordinary evening of entertainment! We are so grateful to be invited to host the preview of such a wonderful play by Peter Shaffer. It afforded us the opportunity to thank our employees, volunteers and donors for their commitment and hard work at Cornerstone VNA.

Carol Davenport was absolutely amazing as Lettice Doufett, the eccentric tour guide with a flair for the dramatic. Tinka Finley touched a small place in each of us bringing Lotte Schoen to life and proving that it is never too late to grow and change, if only a little bit. When these two actors brought Lettice and Lotte to life it was like a mix of The Odd Couple with a dose of Don Quixote and spiced up with Ethel and Lucy!

The West End Studio Theatre is simply superb.  Its intimate atmosphere lends itself perfectly to allowing the audience to experience the play close up and personal. Intermissions in the garden are a perfect complement to the theater-a brief stroll and refreshments in nature while your emotions from the play to settle down, only to be lifted again when you watch the final act. On behalf of your audience from Cornerstone VNA – Bravo! And Break A Leg at your next performance!

This was our second year as a non-profit partner with Act One at the West End Studio Theatre. We are already looking forward to next year although many people plan to attend Ancestral Voices by AR Gurney on September 3 & 4.
