Phillips of Rochester Named LNA of the Year


 CONCORD, N.H.,  Bonnie Phillips of Rochester was named Home Care LNA of the Year at the Home Care Association of New Hampshire’s Annual Meeting in Meredith, NH in June.  The LNA of the Year Award is presented annually by the Association to recognize outstanding care givers in home care.

Ms. Phillips is a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) at Cornerstone VNA. “For fourteen years Bonnie has brought positive energy, laughter and passion to her job and to the patients of Cornerstone VNA,” says Jennifer Gullison, Clinical Director at Cornerstone VNA. “She’s an amazing caregiver.  Returning patients ask for her specifically and the VNA has received many donations in her name from patients and their families. We are most fortunate to have her on our team.”

Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) provide basic patient care and assist with nursing procedures which often includes assisting patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and assistance with self-administration of medicine.

The Home Care Association NH was established in 1974 to promote the delivery of high-quality health care in the home by offering education and networking opportunities for home healthcare professionals.  Its goal is also to provide leadership on home care issues, and serves as a home care advocate in the public policy arena. Cornerstone VNA Welcomes Erika Lee as Assistant Director of Advancement

Erika LeeCornerstone VNA is pleased to announce that Erika Lee has joined the team as Assistant Director of Advancement.   In her role, Ms. Lee will be responsible for providing support to the Advancement Director in the area of development, marketing and communications.  She will also coordinate and oversee public relations events, research and write grants, and manage the exemplary volunteer program at Cornerstone VNA.  Ms. Lee brings with her a wealth of experience in health care administration having served as Development Director at SeaCare Health Services in Exeter, NH, Planning Associate in Strategic Planning at Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH, and Regional Operations Coordinator at HEALTHSOUTH New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, MA.

“I am so pleased to have Erika Lee become part of our team,” states Susan Paquette, Director of Advancement at Cornerstone VNA.  “Erika has such a diverse skill set. She possesses outstanding communication skills coupled with superb writing ability, creativity and vision.  She joins our team’s profound commitment to advancing the mission of Cornerstone VNA.”

Ms. Lee earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Management and Policy and her Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.  Over the years she has participated in charity bike events and has volunteered for Northeast Passage, a non-profit organization and program of the Recreation Management and Policy Department at UNH that provides barrier free recreation for people with physical disabilities.  She has recently served as a Board Member for Catamount Womenaid and the Council of Fundraising (CONFR).  She currently resides in Northwood with her husband and two children.

Cornerstone VNA Hosting Private Showing of SEE ROCK CITY

On Wednesday, August 27 Cornerstone VNA will be hosting a private, premier showing of the play, SEE ROCK CITY at The West End Studio Theatre 959 Islington Street in Portsmouth, NH from 7:30-9:30 pm.

The show will be produced by Act One NH and will be a sequel to last year’s play Last Train To Nibroc (which will also be running again on August 15, 16, and 29).  You do not have to see Last Train to Nibroc  to enjoy its sequel SEE ROCK CITY.  

This small theatre will hold 55 guests and tickets are $20.00 p/p and is sure to be special event for all who attend.  Refreshments will be served in the garden at the theater during intermission (weather permitting).
